JIM DEIBEL

Jim Deibel serves as an Adviser at Wolverine Interests.

James M. Deibel is President of Teakwood Property Company, a commercial real estate company headquartered in Plano, Texas, but servicing clients regionally. Jim has the immediate responsibility for creating new business opportunities and strategic planning.

Jim, a native of Dallas, Texas, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Public Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Jim began his real estate career in 1979 with Pearcy/Christon, Inc., a Dallas-based retail development and brokerage firm, where he concentrated on brokerage of land and income properties. While there, Jim closed more than $20 million dollars in real estate transactions.

In 1983, Jim joined The Staubach Company as a member of the Brokerage Division. While there, Jim was awarded the 1984 “Top Producer” award and during his eight-year association with the firm, generated transaction volume in excess of $100 million dollars.

In 1987, Jim headed up an asset management division affiliated with The Staubach Company, SBC Realty Advisors, Inc. Its primary mission was to assist in the asset management of over $500 million dollars in real estate owned by various financial institutions, the FSLIC, FDIC and RTC.

In 1991, Jim formed Teakwood Property Company, a wholly-owned real estate company concentrating primarily in land brokerage. Additionally, Jim has worked closely with many public and private owners of real estate in an asset management/advisory capacity.

In 1997, Jim and partner John Coffman formed Teakwood Realty Advisors, LLC in order to maximize their collective potential and provide value-added real estate services to their clients. By 2003, the company had grown to over 100 employees with day-to-day management responsibilities over some 3,500 newly constructed multi-family units throughout the southwestern U.S. as well as 400,000 square feet of office space valued in excess of $160 million dollars. John Coffman passed away in July 2000.

In December 2004, Jim merged his client base with Holt Lunsford Commercial in order to create deeper bench strength and opportunities with his institutional clients. While there, Jim represented Franklin Street Properties in the acquisition of Liberty Plaza, a 218,934 square foot office building development located in Addison, Texas. Jim was also instrumental in the recapitalization of Frisco Square, an urban lifestyle development located in Frisco, Texas on behalf of Fairways Frisco, L.P. and Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT I.

In January 2008, Jim joined forces with his longtime friends and colleagues Jim Leslie and Cathy Sweeney with Wolverine Interests, L.L.C. and was primarily focused on third-party business opportunities.

In April 2016, Jim successfully reorganized a rockwool insulation manufacturing company located in Nolanville, Texas under the name American Rockwool Manufacturing, LLC.

Jim is currently President of The Abraham Hays Foundation, Inc. and a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker. Jim is an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Community of Plano, Texas. Jim and his wife June have been married for 34 years and have three children James, Jr.-29, Cera-23, and Katie-17.
